For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14

Oh if only the world could learn this one simple lesson. If only we could put faith in the power of love. If we could learn to stop viewing external images and allowing them to put evil in our hearts. If we could learn to even love the sinner, the day will come when it will be on earth as it is in heaven.

You may be able to fight fire with fire, but you cannot fight evil with evil. The thing with evil is that it magnifies, when people see evil acts and they accept the images into their heart it creates evil. There are many Christians, maybe even some reading this now who cannot accept the importance of forgiveness. They feel if an innocent Muslim is killed this is just a misfortunate deed to make the world right, after all they started it. Forgiveness doesn’t calculate who started it, forgiveness only concerns ending it.

Any time you see a news item out whether local, national, or world news and there is a story that bothers you, take note of the fact that the image has bothered you, this can be a learning experience for you. This is an opportunity for you to let the image into your mind, but don’t let it slip into your heart. As soon as you see the image, you may get a slight feeling of hate or wish to seek revenge towards the evildoer, but you will do yourself and the world more good if you immediately pray. Pray for the victim and pray for the soul of the evildoer to be cleansed of its darkness.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, you are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem. Do you believe God has created a perfect world? Is God perfect? If God is perfect, how could he not have created a perfect world? You will never, never, rid the world through manmade means. Human leaders may think that they can win the war, by killing everyone who is evil. God is sending souls to this earth everyday and some of these souls will desert Him and turn evil, we will have a circle of killing evil that will last forever, or I should say until we learn the lesson he has given us. Love is the only weapon that will kill evil. God wants us to learn this lesson.

When I finally snapped out of the shock caused by September 11th, 2001, I started to think I would love to form my own worldwide network like Al-Qaida, but my group would be used as a defense against evil. We would come send out prayer to the whole world in times of trouble. As those other groups become more and more sophisticated and do better job of recruiting new members to perform evil acts, our group could do the same to counter their darkness, we could send loving prayer to the hearts that need it. I really believe that individual prayer is strong enough, but there is also strength in numbers. Someday this dream will become a reality and there will be a worldwide network of Christian soldiers, real Christian soldiers, not soldiers that seek revenge, but Christian soldiers who prevent hate from growing. I am not anti-military, in fact I feel quite pleased with the fact that there are young people who will make such sacrifices to provide our safety. I just look forward to more people using the power of prayer as a prevention tool. If you happen to be a reader who believes in the power of prayer, I personally invite you to help me form my world network.

For hatred does not cease by hatred at any time; hatred ceases by love- this is the eternal law. -Buddha
